Following an announcement that West Central Ag Services will move forward with a member vote on a proposed merger by the northwestern Minnesota cooperative with CHS Inc. on November 26, 2024, Arthur Companies CEO James Burgum shared the following statement with KFGO News:
“We appreciate the chance to sit down with West Central’s leadership this past week. The Arthur Companies remains willing to work out a deal that prioritizes the growers bottom line while maintaining competition and great customer service for future generations. We’re looking forward to meeting with growers this week and we encourage patrons to get out and vote on November 26.”
The Arthur Companies is inviting West Central patrons to attend area meetings prior to voting on the revised proposal from CHS at a Nov. 26, 2024, meeting.
There is no formal program and events begin at 1:00pm.
– Tuesday, November 19 at The Eagles Club, Crookston
– Wednesday, November 20 at the AmericInn, Fergus Falls
– Thursday, November 21 at the Shooting Star, Mahnomen
– Friday, November 22 at the AmericInn, Hawley
While an Arthur Companies deal may take a bit longer to finalize, Burgum is confident The Arthur Companies can close on its proposal if West Central’s growers vote down a CHS absorption.
