NORMAN COUNTY, MINN. (KFGO) – Kevin Yungen, a rural Gary, Minnesota man is facing criminal charges after he was accused of threatening two deer hunters and firing a gun towards them.
According to court documents, a Norman County Sheriff’s deputy was called to rural Gary Sunday on a report from two victims who reported they were hunting on their land. The victims told the deputy they saw a car driving by them slowly and the driver stared at them. One victim recognized the vehicle as one seen at the nearby Yungen farm. The victims then heard three rapid gunshots coming from the farm and then heard a loud amplified voice say “those are the warning shots, next shots will be in your direction, this is your opportunity to get the f*** out of here.” The two left and called police.
The deputy talked to Yungen, who admitted to firing the shots but denied he said anything. He said he shot up in the air to scare the deer out of his yard. The deputy found a wad from a shotgun shell, a distance from where Yungen said he had had shot the gun.
Yungen is charged with 5 felony charges including Threats of Violence and Dangerous Weapons-Intentional Discharge of a Firearm.
