NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (KFGO) – One person was killed in a collision between an train and a BNSF service vehicle. It happened around 11 a.m. Monday, about 2.5 miles northwest of New Rockford, North Dakota.
Eddy County Sheriff Paul Lies says a BNSF train stuck a BNSF service vehicle that was backing across the railroad tracks. The driver of the service vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the vehicle was taken by ambulance to the Carrington hospital. Their injuries are unknown.
The victim’s name has not been released.
The Eddy County Sheriff’s Office, BNSF and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
