FARGO (KFGO) – Site work is underway for what will be another Kwik Trip convenience store, what is likely to be one of several in the Fargo metro area.
Demolition crews have torn down the former location of Village Family Service Center at 25th St. and 12th Ave. S in Fargo.
A commercial real estate agent not associated with the transaction says the property sold last August for $2.6 million.
Various permit-applications have been filed with the city’s inspections, engineering, planning, and fire departments for the store, identified in documents as Kwik Trip store #1749. It’s believed to be the 5th Kwik Trip location the company plans in Fargo. Other stores may be built in Moorhead and Dilworth. A spokesman says the company does not have any numbers to share on how many stores it’s planning in the market.
The chain, founded in 1965, is based in La Crosse, Wisconsin. It has more than 850 stores. In Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan, the stores use the name Kwik Trip. In Illinois, Iowa and South Dakota, the family-owned chain goes by Kwik Star.
