MINNEAPOLIS – The TSA is installing nine new CT scanners at security checkpoints inside Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Regional spokesperson Jessica Mayle says most people think of a medical scanner when they hear CT scanner. She says it’s the same idea.
Mayle says officers get a better look inside a passenger’s bag with 3-D images instead of the 2-D x-ray images. It’s expected to result in fewer bag checks and passengers no longer need to remove their laptop computers or liquids.
The installation process is expected to be completed in early December.
