MADRID (Reuters) – Spain’s Santander said on Tuesday its net profit in the third quarter rose 12% compared to the same period in 2023 thanks to its retail business’ solid performance.
The euro zone third-biggest bank in terms of market value booked a net profit of 3.25 billion euros ($3.5 billion) in the July to September period, up from 2.9 billion euros in the same quarter last year.
Analysts polled by Reuters expected Santander to book a net profit of 3.1 billion euros.
