BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – A federal grand jury has indicted a woman from the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in south central North Dakota for arson and destroying government property.
Melody Walker-White Twin of Fort Yates is accused of burning down the 105-year-old Selfridge Post Office in September.
Prosecutors say on Sept. 15, Walker-White Twin used rocks to try to break the post office’s windows and set fire to the building the next day.
The night the post office burned, five trucks, a tanker, and multiple volunteers responded to the blaze. No one was injured and the fire did not spread to anything else.
