GRAND FORKS – -North Dakota U.S. Senator John Hoeven marked the completed reconstruction and extension of the crosswind runway at Grand Forks International Airport Wednesday morning.
The five-year, $70 million project will enable the airport to maintain large aircraft operations while the main runway is reconstructed from 2026 through 2028.
It will also support greater air traffic capacity and improved operational efficiency.
This dovetails with the construction of a new Air Traffic Control Tower, which is set to begin in 2025 and will be fully funded by the federal government.
