DRISCOLL, N.D. (KFGO) – Five people were injured and 25 head of cattle were killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles in central North Dakota early Monday morning on Interstate 94 near Driscoll around 1.
The Highway Patrol says the cattle got out of a pasture along the interstate and congregated on the roadway under an overpass. A semi, SUV, and a car hit the cattle.
The semi went into the median and tipped over. A small fire started but was quickly put out with an extinguisher. The 57-year-old man from Edmore, North Dakota driving the truck was not hurt. The 26-year-old Napoleon, North Dakota woman driving the SUV, and all four people in the car, a 41-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man-16-year-old boy, and a 13-year-old girl, all from Bigelow, Minnesota, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Bismarck hospitals.
Both lanes of the interstate were re-routed for several hours.
