BUXTON, N.D. (KFGO) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of an 18-year-old man who suffered serious injuries when the SUV he was driving ran into a train at a crossing north of Buxton.
Jack Knudsvig of Buxton was airlifted to Fargo by Sanford Airmed. The crash happened at about 8 a.m. Thursday at an unmarked crossing. The SUV was dragged about 50-feet.
Traill County Sheriff Steve Hunt says Knudsvig was headed east and his view may have been obscured by the sun. His SUV struck the second engine of the BNSF train.
