ST. PAUL, Minn. – The push to expand Amtrak’s new Borealis passenger rail line across Minnesota is gaining steam.
Brian Nelson with All Aboard Minnesota says there is a lot of support for expanding daytime passenger service to the west on the current Empire Builder through St. Cloud to Fargo.
Nelson says the BNSF tracks and infrastructure along that corridor are in “excellent” shape.
Amtrak launched the Borealis Amtrak route between St. Paul and Chicago in May and had more than 18,500 passengers in the first month.
