ST. PAUL, MINN – New research from the Minnesota Hospital Association suggests there’s some improvement in the state’s nursing shortage. C-E-O Rahul Koranne says there’s still a ways to go, but the data show the hospital workforce is making a turnaround from the pandemic.
He says, “Last year Minnesota hired more than 53 hundred nurses and nurses’ vacancies fell significantly for the first time since the pandemic.”
Doctor Koranne says nurse vacancy rates are three percent higher in rural Minnesota hospitals. He also says more nurses are choosing to work a part-time schedule.
