FARGO (KFGO) – A Fargo man is in jail and charged after a pickup was stolen from a south Fargo bar early Sunday morning.
According to court records, a man drove to the bar around 1:15 a.m. to give a friend a ride, but when he returned to the parking lot about 15 minutes later, he couldn’t find his pickup. The man gave officers a description of the pickup and tracked it with GPS.
A Highway Patrol trooper located the vehicle on 32nd Avenue S. in Fargo and conducted a high-risk traffic stop with a Fargo officer.
Phoenix Lindblad, 19, admitted to officers that he, “stole his car to teach him a lesson.” He says he yelled an expletive at the owner as he drove away, “all reckless.”
When the victim recovered his pickup, he noticed new damage.
Lindblad told officers he didn’t remember if he was in an accident with the vehicle.
