Carter Hammer (Cass County Jail)
FARGO (KFGO) – A teen facing charges concerning an incident Monday night is jailed.
Fargo police responded to the 1800 block of University Drive North around 10 Monday night on a report of an argument. A group of car enthusiasts reported they were disrupted when a former group member arrived and allegedly brandished a weapon.
Witnesses on the scene reported that 19-year-old Carter Hammer had a handgun or a BB gun. Hammer fled the scene before police arrived but he was found while conducting a felony traffic stop.
During questioning, Hammer waived his Miranda Rights and admitted to his actions though he claimed they were in self-defense. However, after further investigation, police determined his actions did not meet the criteria for self-defense.
Hammer was arrested for Terrorizing With A Dangerous Weapon.
Separately, Hammer is charged with Gross Sexual Imposition for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl in a car in north Fargo.
