District 1 – Baudette area

CO Ben Huener (Roseau) attended training throughout the week. Over the weekend, a detail was worked on Lake of the Woods with a few other officers. Violations encountered included possessing an overlimit of walleyes, insufficient number of life jackets on the boat, and operating watercraft without the required navigation lights after sunset.
CO Tony Hams (Warroad North) spent the week checking area anglers, monitoring ATV traffic, and following up with various complaints. Violations encountered were overlimit of walleyes, no license in possession, no throwable PFD, and failure to drive in a single lane.
CO Coby Fontes (Warroad South) spent the week patrolling Lake of the Woods, the Beltrami Island State Forest, and attending a LEMA (Law Enforcement Memorial Association) Honor Guard training. Enforcement action was taken for driving after revocation, operating an off-highway motorcycle in a closed area, and operating a watercraft after sunset without navigation lights.
CO Nicholas Prachar (Baudette West) reports increased ATV activity in the area. Time was spent working ATV and AIS enforcement as well as following up on bear-related complaints.
CO Jeremy Woinarowicz (Thief River Falls West) spent the week instructing at the Conservation Officer Academy. Instruction was given on game enforcement relating to big and small game, shining, and high-risk traffic stops.
CO Sarah Jahn (Thief River Falls East) spent the week handling various wildlife-related complaints and working several outreach events, including the Beltrami County Fair and a 4H camp. Several TIP calls were taken, and investigations were started.
CO Nick Bruesewitz (Karlstad) reports working angling and ATV activity throughout the week. Anglers saw some success on the Red Lake River. Enforcement action was taken for various ATV violations.
CO Brice Vollbrecht (Blackduck North) monitored angling activity on Blackduck-area lakes and Upper Red Lake. Several nuisance-bear complaints were taken, and deer farm inspections were completed.
District 2 – Bemidji area

CO Tom Hutchins (Crookston) reports spending the first part of this week at Camp Ripley with the current CO Academy. Time was further spent working an ATV complaint area. Boaters and anglers were also checked.
CO Jake Swedberg (Detroit Lakes) spent time following up on shoreline and aquatic plant management complaints this week. Swedberg also spent time talking with members of the public at the Becker County Fair and assisted at the DNR Academy.
CO Jordan Anderson (Osage) worked boating and fishing activity. Numerous wildlife-related calls were handled in the area. The hope is the start of bear baiting will reduce some of these complaints. Preparations were made for the upcoming field training process.
CO William Landmark (Moorhead) spent the week assisting with game week instruction and evaluations at the CO Academy. Calls of nuisance and deceased animals were also addressed.
CO Angie Warren (Mahnomen) spent time on angling and boating activity. AIS compliance was monitored. Follow up was conducted on an open case of a beaver dam removal. Areas were patrolled for ATV and off-road vehicle activity. Warren also assisted White Earth with possible trespass issues. A complaint of dogs possibly killing a fawn was investigated.
CO Brady Manteufel (Bagley) patrolled for ATV activity, conducted angling checks, and continued work on an ongoing angling case. Nuisance-bear calls were also handled, and assistance was provided to a local police department a runaway horse and buggy. The Turn in Poachers trailer was worked for a few days at the Beltrami County Fair. Good discussions were had, and he answered questions on many topics. A TIP call regarding nine mallards that appeared to have been intentionally run over south of Fosston was investigated. CO Jamus Veit (Bemidji #2) spent the week working at the Beltrami County Fair with the TIP trailer talking to community members and answering questions.
District 3 – Fergus Falls area

CO Hanna Wood (Fergus Falls) continued to work on her background investigation and assisted with the CO Academy. She also gave a laws and ethics presentation geared toward waterfowl hunting at ?Woodie Camp,? a week-long youth camp put on by the Fergus Falls Fish and Game Club.
CO Tricia Plautz (Henning) spent the week training new cadets at the CO Academy on small-game, big-game, bear-hunting, and night shining rules. A background investigation continues, and several calls are coming in about dogs running on property not belonging to them. Dog owners are responsible for keeping their dogs at home.
CO Ryan Brown (Elbow Lake) continued to monitor angling and boating activity this week. Time was also spent with equipment maintenance.
CO Shane Osborne (Evansville) patrolled area lakes and rivers for fishing and boating activity. A waterfowl-harassment investigation was conducted, and aquatic plant removal complaints were received. Several no angling license violations were encountered.
CO Jake Homan (Alexandria) spent the week patrolling Douglas County. Follow up was completed on ongoing station cases. Enforcement action was taken on a variety of violations.
CO Emily Douvier (Morris) attended a youth event at the local county fair. She also handled wetland complaints and took a report of a red-tailed hawk caught on a powerline. Fishing enforcement was worked, and August roadside surveys were completed for Wildlife Section staff. Assistance was also given to local authorities in apprehending an individual who was in possession of a stolen ATV.
CO Daniel Baumbarger (Glenwood) reports enforcement efforts for the week were concentrated on checking anglers, boaters, and ATV operators. Baumbarger continued follow up on wetland violations and attended a technical evaluation panel meeting.
District 4 – Walker area

CO Landyn Saewert (Wadena) spent time patrolling the Huntersville State Forest for ATV activity. Area lakes have seen minimal activity, and the fish bite has slowed with the lower temperatures. Several wildlife-related complaints were handled throughout the week.
CO Nick Baum (Park Rapids) patrolled the area for ATV, boating, and angling activity. Baum found several people enjoying the cooler weather on recreational vehicles. He took time this week to complete equipment maintenance in preparation for the upcoming fall season. Baum continues to field calls involving conflict bears and interactions with the public. Baum took enforcement on some boating violations.
CO Corey Sura (Remer) updated wetlands cases and took calls about bears and bear hunting. Sura assisted with patrol work on Lake of the Woods and the Northwest Angle. Violations encountered included fishing with extra lines, insufficient number of life jackets, and watercraft operations without navigation lights after sunset.
CO Jacque Johnson (Longville) investigated shoreline- and wetland-related violations. She also spoke at a firearm safety class.
CO Patrick McGowan (Walker) assisted at Camp Ripley for CO Academy training and prepared for upcoming field training of a new conservation officer cadet. McGowan also worked Cass County lakes. Enforcement action was taken for numerous violations.
CO Mark Mathy (Cass Lake) primarily worked on a background investigation. Some time was spent checking recreational vehicles. Mathy also worked on Bear Committee-related items and answered questions about the upcoming season.
CO Adam Seifermann (Staples) reports assisting with the CO Academy at Camp Ripley. He continues to make progress on a new employee pre-employment background investigation. He also reports attending a National Night Out community event in Sartell, where Seifermann and K9 Jet provided a detection demonstration. Seifermann also reports patrolling North Long Lake during the impressive PGI Fireworks show. Some enforcement action for the week consisted of insufficient life saving devices, no navigation lights when required, and assisting another agency with a roll-over crash.
