District 1 – Baudette area

CO Ben Huener (Roseau) attended a regional meeting at Itasca State Park and checked anglers on the Roseau River. He also monitored area ATV activity in the Beltrami Island State Forest.
CO Tony Hams (Warroad North) spent the week checking area anglers, monitoring ATV traffic, conducting a pre-employment background investigation, and attending a regional meeting at Itasca State Park. Violations encountered were no license in possession, angling without a license, no helmets, passenger restriction violation, and insufficient number of PFDs.
CO Coby Fontes (Warroad South) spent the week assisting with trapping week at the CO Academy and patrolling the Beltrami Island State Forest. Enforcement action was taken for driving an ATV under the influence of alcohol, transporting an open container of alcohol, ATV-operation violations, and possession of an overlimit of walleyes.
CO Nicholas Prachar (Baudette West) patrolled for AIS violations and helped at the CO Academy. Time was spent working on pre-employment backgrounds.
CO Jeremy Woinarowicz (Thief River Falls West) spent time preparing to instruct at the CO Academy, attended a regional meeting, and checked area anglers. Enforcement action was taken for taking fish while privileges are suspended.
CO Sarah Jahn (Thief River Falls East) assisted other COs on a search warrant in the Bagley area. A complaint about a boat with expired registration was taken, and when contact was made with the boat the occupants didn?t have a single life jacket on board and were consuming alcohol under the age of 21. Other enforcement action was taken for angling without a license and juveniles not wearing helmets on ATVS.
CO Brice Vollbrecht (Blackduck North) monitored angling activity on area lakes. Numerous nuisance-bear complaints were taken by area residents and farmers. Area forest roads and trails were patrolled for ATV activity.

District 2 – Bemidji area

CO Tom Hutchins (Crookston) reports attending a meeting at Itasca State Park. Time was also spent working on wildlife-related complaints. Anglers and watercraft operators were checked. A firearms safety field day was attended in Crookston.
CO Andrew Goodman (Perham) attended a regional enforcement meeting, spoke at an ATV safety class, and assisted the sheriff?s office with a distressed boater. Time between patrolling lakes was spent policing youth ATV and off-road vehicle issues.
CO Jake Swedberg (Detroit Lakes) spent the week checking boaters, anglers, and ATV riders. Detroit Lakes was full of activity over the weekend and Swedberg checked many boaters on area lakes. Thankfully all the boaters that Swedberg spoke with were law-abiding. Swedberg also assisted Becker County and the State Patrol with several calls over the weekend.
CO Jordan Anderson (Osage) spent time on Academy training, attended a regional meeting, and patrolled area lakes and trails.
CO William Landmark (Moorhead) spent the week following up with ongoing wetland and shoreline cases as well as responding to nuisance-bear complaints. Time was also spent attending a legislative update meeting at Itasca State Park and assisting with a firearms safety class.
CO Angie Warren (Mahnomen) spent time on angling and boating activity. Patrol was conducted for ATV and off-road vehicle activity. AIS compliance was monitored. Warren also assisted with training at Camp Ripley and attended a regional meeting.
CO Jamus Veit (Bemidji #2) attended a regional meeting and bicycle training at Camp Ripley. Time was also spent monitoring angling and ATV activity and dealing with nuisance-wildlife complaints.

District 3 – Fergus Falls area

CO Hanna Wood (Fergus Falls) continued assisting at the COI Academy and working on her background investigation.
CO Tricia Plautz (Henning) assisted with training at the CO Academy in Ripley. A lake association meeting was attended, boating and fishing enforcement was conducted, and an aquatic vegetation complaint was investigated.
CO Ryan Brown (Elbow Lake) reports spending most of his enforcement efforts on angling and boating activity. Time was also spent with wetland investigations and miscellaneous wildlife-related complaints.
CO Shane Osborne (Evansville) checked anglers, boaters, and ATV riders. Fishing related complaints were received and investigated. Aquatic plant management inspections on area lakes continue. Non-game questions were received and handled.
CO Jake Homan (Alexandria) spent the week patrolling Douglas County. Time was spent patrolling area lakes for recreational boating and angling activity. Homan attended an integrated training with other local law enforcement agencies and first responders. Follow up was completed on ongoing cases in the station.
CO Emily Douvier (Morris) reports working recreational enforcement and completing interviews for a background investigation. A training was also attended.
CO Daniel Baumbarger (Glenwood) reports enforcement efforts for the week were concentrated on checking boaters and anglers and monitoring AIS law compliance. Additional time was spent investigating fishing complaints and working on pending wetland violations. Questions were fielded about the upcoming waterfowl and youth deer seasons.

District 4 – Walker area

CO Corey Sura (Remer) attended an area lake association meeting. Sura patrolled area lakes for angling and boating activity. Enforcement action was taken for fishing without a license.
CO Nick Baum (Park Rapids) patrolled the area for ATV, boating, and angling activity. Baum continues to investigate public waters and aquatic plant violations. Baum took enforcement action on various recreational vehicle and boating violations.
CO Jacque Johnson (Longville) attended a Minnesota Deer Hunters Association banquet. She also assisted with a vehicle off the road.
CO Adam Seifermann (Staples) reports assisting with the CO Academy at Camp Ripley and has started a new employee pre-employment background investigation. Some enforcement action consisted of children under 10 years old not wearing PFDs while on a moving boat, no fire extinguisher in watercraft when required, failure to display valid registration numbers, and a plethora of personal watercraft violations. With summer in full swing, it is a great time for adults and guardians to brush up on life jacket and watercraft operation rules/laws and educate their children.
CO Patrick McGowan (Walker) worked Leech Lake for boating and angling activity. Numerous anglers who were checked were trying for muskies and some success was noted. Enforcement action was taken for boating violations, and time was spent maintaining station patrol equipment.
CO Landyn Saewert (Wadena) attended three days at Camp Ripley for training. Time was spent patrolling the Huntersville State Forest on an ATV. An aquatic plant management violation was found and addressed. A firearms safety field day was attended. Approximately 32 students were in attendance.
