FARGO (KFGO) – A fake call prompted a large police presence in south Fargo Friday evening.
Fargo Police say an anonymous caller made what’s known as a ‘swatting’ call around 7 p.m. Officers responded to 1360 12th Ave. S. Neighbors told KFGO News that officers were in nearby yards and on the street with rifles aimed at the home in what they said looked like a standoff.
After further investigation, it was determined that the call was a hoax. Most officers had left the scene by 8:15 p.m.
