MINNEAPOLIS – Minneapolis is asking for the public’s input on three concepts that debuted Tuesday for George Floyd Square.
Senior Project Manager Alexander Kado says they unveiled five ideas for The Peoples’ Way, a former gas station, which will become a community space.
Kadi says they’re working to understand the community needs from a memorial standpoint, looking for a vision for George Floyd Square and gathering ideas on how the city conducts support for a memorial.
Kado stresses that this is just the first concept draft and that the city is on track to conclude the community engagement work on the Square this fall and then furnish a final report before the end of the year.
Implementation will begin in early 2025.
