COLERIDGE, Minn. (KFGO) – A 14-year-old girl was killed and a 13-year-old girl was airlifted to a hospital after being hit by a car while walking along a road in northern Minnesota. It happened in Itasca County just before 1:30 a.m. Monday.
The State Patrol says the girls were walking along Highway 169 in Coleraine, about 5 miles northeast of Grand Rapids.
A car driven by 18-year-old Matthew Tombeck from Marble, Minnesota, hit the two girls.
14-year-old Dakota Jones was killed. 13-year-old Aubrey Martin was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.
Tombeck and his passenger were not injured.
