DULUTH, MINN. – Several people are recovering from injuries after a tour boat hosting a wedding reception crashed into a breakwater on Lake Superior.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says the boat hit the barrier at the Wisconsin entry around 11 p.m. on Saturday.
One person on board had to be airlifted to St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth for treatment but is expected to recover.
More than 80 people were on board at the time of the crash, which is under investigation.
Reports indicate the Vista Star hit the breakwater when the ship turned because of 5-foot waves and ran to close to the rock break wall.
