DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (KFGO) – A motorcycle rider suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash in northern North Dakota Friday.
The highway patrol says 56-year-old Earl Miller of Webster, North Dakota was riding his motorcycle south on Highway 20 south of Devils Lake. 47-year-old Jeffrey Bridell of Pembina was the driver of a minivan stopped at a stop sign and waiting for southbound traffic to clear before turning north onto the highway.
A vehicle in front of the motorcycle blocked Bridell’s view of the highway and when he went to make the right turn, Miller’s bike ran into the side of the minivan.
Miller was taken to CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Devils Lake. He was not wearing a helmet.
Bridell and a passenger, 40-year-old Rebecca Bridell, suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Four kids in the minivan were not hurt. All six people in the minivan were wearing seat belts.
The Highway Patrol says the crash and possible charges are under investigation.
