FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO) – The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office has a new K-9 officer.
K-9 Koa is a 2-year-old German Shepherd from Slovakia. Koa and his handler, Deputy Kelby Jensen, are working to become a certified K-9 team, a 13-week process. Koa will be trained for narcotics detection, searches, tracking, and apprehension.
Koa replaces K-9 mojo, who retired this spring after 9 years with the Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office is raising money to support and sustain their K-9 program. Funds raised will be used to train and equip K-9s and their handlers. Anyone interested can contact the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
