STUTSMAN COUNTY, N.D. (KFGO) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol says two children died and 6 other people were injured in a rollover crash Monday shortly before 5 p.m. on I-94 seven miles west of Jamestown.
An SUV was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control after being passed by a semi-truck and went off the interstate, rolled, and landed on its side in a slough.
First responders found the bodies of two boys, a 7-year-old and a 10-year-old, in the deep water. All others were transported to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
A 9-year-old child was then flown to Sanford Hospital in Fargo with life-threatening injuries. The SUV driver, a 30-year-old woman, was transported by ambulance to Sanford in Fargo with serious injuries. The other four children, between the ages of 5 and 11, had minor injuries.
All those involved in the crash are from Cleveland, North Dakota.
The crash remains under investigation.
The driver’s name will be released later on July 16 (Tuesday). The names of the juveniles will not be released.
