BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – Sunday’s storms pounded parts of south central North Dakota. Michael Holland, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Bismarck says there were two confirmed tornados and high winds that caused property damage.
One tornado touched down 2 miles west of Ashley, in Mcintosh County. Tennis ball sized hail was also reported there. Another tornado was reported in Dickey County, just southwest of Kulm.
The weather service says southeast of Ashley, in Mcintosh County, high winds destroyed 6 buildings on a farm with debris scattered a quarter mile from the farm. It’s not yet certain if that was caused by straight-line winds or a tornado touchdown.
The storm also blew the roof off a home near Raleigh, in Grant County. A piece of a metal swing was driven 10 inches into the ground 75 yards from its original location.
There have been no reports of any injuries
