FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO) – 23-year-old Frankie J. Reed III of Fergus Falls has been sentenced to more than 6 years in prison after pleading guilty to 3rd Degree Murder.
According to court documents, the Fergus Falls Police Department was dispatched to Matthew House, a multi-unit transitional housing facility, on a report of a drug overdose on March 30, 2023. Officers found Matthew Millsop in a second-floor bedroom who was transported by ambulance to Lake Region Hospital where he died.
A resident told police that Millsop had said earlier that he would meet Reed at a gas station. Another resident confirmed that the M30 pills were Millsop’s and that he had purchased them from an individual at the gas station. Law enforcement found pills in Millsop’s bedroom they suspected were fentanyl. Questioned by authorities, Reed admitted to selling the pills to Millsop in the past.
According to Reed, he had purchased the pills in Fargo and brought them to Fergus Falls with the sole intent to sell them to Millsop.
The autopsy report Millsop’s said cause of death was Fentanyl toxicity.
