MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Minneapolis Police are investigating after a Minneapolis resident was found dead in a vehicle that crashed southeast of Rochester.
Olmsted County deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash Saturday morning. When they arrived, the driver was outside the vehicle and the victim was dead in the backseat.
Authorities say the victim had traumatic injuries not consistent with a vehicle crash.
Minneapolis Police chief Brian O’Hara says the BCA contacted his department to do a welfare check at the victim’s home. Later that day, the BCA, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, and Minneapolis Police conducted a search warrant and found what O’Hara says was a scene indicating violence.
The driver was arrested. The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
