FARGO (KFGO) – A Fargo man was arrested after a home break-in and attempting to flee police early Monday.
Shortly before 2 a.m., police were called to the 900 block of College Street North on a report that a man broke a window to get inside a home and attempted to steal property. Officers attempted a brief foot chase but they were unable to catch him.
Police set up a perimeter and launched a K-9 track that led officers to the Johnson Park area several blocks south of the NDSU campus.
The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Jason Giemza, was tracked down in the 400 block of 11th Street North. He was taken into custody and is being held in the Cass County Jail on charges of burglary, preventing arrest, and refusal to halt.
