FORMAN, N.D. (KFGO/KVRR) — A Forman, North Dakota man pleaded guilty for setting a teenager on fire in Sargent County in February.
As part of a plea deal, 19-year-old Lance Tyler pleaded guilty to misdemeanor reckless endangerment. He was initially charged with felony aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.
Tyler was sentenced to 33 days in jail and given credit for three days already served.
He will be on electronic monitoring until July 12, must complete 80 hours of community service and pay restitution.
Tyler used a torch to light the 15-year-old male victim on fire after he was sprayed with brake cleaner at a party at a farm shop. Video of the incident circulated on social media.
The victim received 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his neck, face and ear.
