BOUNDARY WATERS, Minn. (KFGO/WCCO)— The body of one of the two canoeists who went missing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness was recovered on Friday during a search near Curtain Falls.
Officials found 41-year-old Jesse Haugen Friday. Crews are still looking for 40-year-old Reis Grams of Lino Lakes.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says two canoes went over the falls on May 18. Two others were found alive. One of those men was badly injured.
The ground search continues this weekend, and air searches will resume Monday.
