Cassie Tauriainen (Wright County Jail)
BUFFALO, Minn. (KFGO/Learfield) – A central woman has been sentenced to 90 days in jail after two young children got sick after eating a chocolate bar containing hallucinogenic mushrooms.
Cassie Tauriainen, 40, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty to 5th drug possession. Her five-year-old daughter and one of her daughter’s classmates ate the chocolate bars. Tauriainen’s daughter was taken to a hospital where doctors reported significant signs of impairment.
Earlier this month, Tauriainen voluntarily transferred legal custody of her daughter to the child’s father.
