(KNFL/KFGO) – The top receiving prospect in the state of North Dakota’s Class of 2027 is taking his talents to the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Multi-sport athlete Brooks Bakko of the Kindred Vikings, recently committed to the University of Minnesota. Brooks Bakko is a 4 star recruit, and he has received a total of 15 Division 1 Football offers. The other schools he received offers from included North Dakota State, North Dakota, Michigan State, Iowa State, Utah, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, along with a few others.
The 6’5 receiver racked up 757 yards, and 12 receiving touchdowns in his junior season with Kindred. But Brooks Bakko has proven to be fantastic on defense as well, as he mainly played defensive back, and recorded 7 interceptions. Kindred fell short of the 2025 State AA Championship game after a close loss to Devils Lake in the State Semis.
Brooks will join former Kindred Viking, Riley Sunram, who is entering his 3rd season with the Gophers. Bakko will also join a few Moorhead Spuds in the 2027 class that committed to Minnesota, including quarterback Jett Feeney, wide receiver David Mack, and running back Taye Reich.
