GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – A Grand Forks teenager will spend 10 years in prison for attempted murder.
Walker Poitra was charged with 13 counts, including attempted murder, terrorizing, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and unlawful possession of a firearm.
On Monday, he pleaded guilty to 9 of the charges, including 5 counts of attempted murder, terrorizing and reckless endangerment. The additional 4 counts were dismissed.
Mason Allery was charged as an adult in the same case and was sentenced to serve 10 years.
Grand Forks Police say Allery and Poitra fired several rounds into a car with five juveniles inside.
It happened in the parking lot of the Ramada in Grand Forks.Two people were shot and taken to Altru hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Allery and Poitra ran from the scene, but were arrested a short time later.
