FARGO (KFGO) – Jim Shaw is bringing his weekly column to kfgo.com.
Shaw wrote a column for Forum Communications for 12 years before he was let go last week. Shaw was a reporter for WDAY-TV for 21 years and the first news director at KVRR-TV where he spent 14 years. He has been voted “Best Columnist of the Red River Valley.”
Shaw says writing for KFGO, where he has guest-hosted numerous times over the past 26 years, is a great fit for him.
The column will appear on kfgo.com starting Thursday, April 9.
Shaw will also narrate the column to be played on 790 AM and 104.7 FM.
Forum Communications CEO Bill Marcil Jr. says letting Shaw and two other columnists go was a business decision based on data and reader feedback. The decision drew a protest outside the company’s headquarters Wednesday afternoon.

Great news. Happy to see continued access to Jim Shaws commentary.
While I don’t always totally agree with Jim, when I compare his being asked to leave the Forum and Scott Hennen staying… well, sure looks like the first amendment means but little to the Marcils. Glad to see that KFGO is stepping up to the plate.
