PARK RAPIDS, Minn. (KFGO) – Two adults are dead and a 13-year-old girl has life-threatening injuries after a head-on crash in Park Rapids Sunday night).
The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 71 and Albert Avenue S. near the airport.
The State Patrol says a pickup driven by 45-year-old Bradley Hayes crossed the centerline and collided with an SUV. Hayes, who troopers suspect was under the influence of alcohol, died at the scene. A 5-year-old boy riding with him suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Kimberly Rife, 39 of Park Rapids was driving the SUV and the 13-year-old girl was with her. Rife and the two children were taken to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo where rife died.
The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, Park Rapids Police and Fire, and North Memorial Ambulance responded to the scene.
