GLEN ULLIN, N.D. (KFGO) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a crash between a pickup and a compact SUV that killed a 7-year-old in Mercer County northwest of Bismarck.
The collision, reported shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday, was on State Highway 49 about 15 miles north of Glen Ullin.
The patrol says the driver of the SUV, a 40-year-old New Salem woman, suffered serious injuries. One of four passengers died at the scene. The other three passengers, a 4-year-old, a 9-year-old and a 12-year-old, were also seriously hurt.
The driver of the pickup, a 35-year-old Beulah man, suffered serious injuries.
Troopers say the woman didn’t stop at an intersection and crossed into the path of the pickup. There was fog at the time of the crash. The injured were taken by ambulances from Mercer County, New Salem and Glen Ullin to Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.
