SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (UND Athletics)– It’s tournament time! No. 2 overall seed North Dakota is set to battle Merrimack in the Sioux Falls Regional Semifinal on Thursday night at 7:32 p.m. from the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in South Dakota.
All UND men’s hockey games, home and away, can be heard on stations across the Fighting Hawks Radio Network
Radio: AM 790 FM 104.7 | 94.1 with broadcaster Darrin Looker and Mike LaMoine calling the action.
Thursday will be only the third all-time meeting between North Dakota and Merrimack, with UND holding a 2-0-0 lead in the series.
The only other meetings came in Oct. 2009, when the Fighting Sioux swept a two-game series at Ralph Engelstad Arena to begin the 2009-10 season.
Thursday will be the first matchup with a Hockey East opponent in the NCAA Tournament since 2017, when UND dropped a 4-3 2OT heartbreaker to Boston University in Fargo, N.D.
