John F. Schroeder, 75, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in Fort Worth, TX.
John was born in Breckenridge, MN, to Carl Schroeder and Leora (Hermas) Schroeder on January 9, 1951. He grew up on a farm near Fairmount, ND, watching and learning how to repair farm equipment from his father. He attended the local schools in Fairmount, graduating from Fairmount High in 1969. John enlisted and served in the Marine Corps for four years.
He attended NDSU for five years. Then, in 1992, John graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor’s in electrical engineering.
John worked for many defense contractors throughout his career. His most notable career was working at Lockheed Martin, where he worked until he retired in 2022.
John is survived by his sisters Corliss (Keith) Miller of Glyndon, MN, and Ruth Hustad of Fargo, ND; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Leora; sister Judy Jacobson; and brother Scott Schoeder.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, ND, with visitation an hour prior. Burial will take place at the Fargo National Cemetery in Harwood, ND, at a later date.
