I see three reasons why Republicans of sound mind voted for Donald Trump. I’m not talking about the MAGA voters who think pedophilia, rape, and theft are acceptable. I’m talking about that 14% of his remaining voters. The ones who felt the country was going in the wrong direction and believed voting for Trump would turn it around. He has failed at each of those approaches, so let’s take them one at a time.
Number one was the border. I have said many times that Biden’s approach was wrong. By allowing an open border, he would undo everything Obama did with his mass deportations. America didn’t like it, regardless of how much cheap labor it supplied. They wanted the wall, but he didn’t stop at the wall. He dragged women and children through the streets. Many of them were here legally, or were already citizens of what is now their country. And let’s not forget he killed a few to this day.
Number two was manufacturing. He promised that tariffs would bring the production of goods back to the United States. But of course, they didn’t. America has only seen higher prices. And of course, made more enemies out of friends and allies.
And number three was the old promise of no new wars. In every election where Trump’s name appeared on the ballot, he made this promise. Now he failed at that too. By surrounding himself with yes men and women, and believing he came from heaven just to do this, he has gotten us into a war he never knew how to fight.
Presidents from both parties before despised Iran. They knew that the regimes were brutal dictatorships. They knew that our ally in Israel wanted America to attack them. But they never fell for it. They never allowed America to be drawn into a religious war that would involve the types of repercussions we are experiencing now.
That’s because they had brains. They surrounded themselves with the best of the best. They cared about our soldiers and the place this would put them in. And they certainly wouldn’t have blown up a school with 168 innocent girls attending. And if they had, they would admit it.
No, Donald Trump is special. He thinks that no matter what he does, America will believe him. At least the majority will.
This time, it appears not.
Good riding with you,
Joel
