Late House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Another honor could soon be coming for late House Speaker Melissa Hortman.
The Minnesota House unanimously passed a bill to rename the Community Solar Garden Program after Hortman.
In 2013 while serving as the Energy Committee chair, Hortman authored the law establishing the program and setting the state’s solar standard. This was a key part to Minnesota’s 100% Clean Energy by 2040 goal.
This bill was authored by the current House Energy Committee co-chair Patty Acomb of Minnetonka.
