ST. PAUL, Minn. – A bill at the state capitol would legalize psilocybin-assisted therapy for medical use only.
Army Veteran Stefan Egan says the psychedelic mushroom treatment saved his life after five combat deployments left him with severe physical and mental trauma. Egan told lawmakers he used psilocybin therapeutically – though illegally – after traditional VA and Army protocols failed him.
Several veterans testified in support of the proposal. The bill has cleared its first stop and now heads to the House Commerce Finance and Policy Committee.
