HANKINSON, N.D. (KFGO) – No one was hurt in a house fire in Hankinson Thursday night.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Office says dispatch received a call just before 10 p.m. for a possible fire in an attic of the home at 307 4th Avenue SW.
Richland County Emergency Manager Brett Lambrecht says 4 adults and 8 children are displaced.
“They are staying in a local hotel and Red Cross is providing assistance. I’ve never had that big of one before when you have that many people in a house. In apartment buildings we have that, but not in a house,” Lambrecht told KFGO News.
Lambrecht said it appears the fire may have been caused by an electrical issue.
The Hankinson Fire Department responded and put the fire out. Hankinson Ambulance also responded to the scene.
The house sustained moderate damage.
