FARGO (KFGO-KVRR) – With Measles cases rising across the country and in North Dakota, Fargo-Cass Public Health has distributed a memo to local students and their families.
The note sent home with students, signed by the School Nurse Manager, lists the most common symptoms of measles and information about how contagious it can be.
The memo also informs parents how to access their child’s immunization records, and warns that if unvaccinated children were exposed to the virus, they should stay home from school and extracurricular activities until the Department of Health determines they can safely return.
So far this year, 21 measles cases have been confirmed in North Dakota. The Health Department says 15 are people under age 19 and 4 people have been hospitalized.
