FARGO (KFGO-KVRR) – The Fargo Convention Center Committee is now taking public comment on the final four proposals.
The potential sites include an expansion to the FARGODOME, Scheels Arena, the Fargo Civic Center or land next to Brewhalla.
Developers recently submitted changes to their proposals. Committee member Charley Johnson says they will meet on Friday, March 6 to hear from developers about details of each plan.
“One of the primary things we want to see is if they changed any detail in the plan. And then we also want to see what the construction budget is, what we can get from the money we have. And so far, I’ve been pleasantly surprised, the projects are feasible at the costs we have to spend,” said Johnson.
Fargo voters approved a 3% lodging tax to fund the construction of a convention center.
Johnson says after working on the committee for more than a year, he is excited to make a final decision.

“It’s been a lot of work, a lot of meetings, a lot of information to pour through, but it’s going to pay off because I know we’re going to get a good project,” said Johnson.
Public comments are being accepted until March 12. The committee hopes to have a decision to the city commission by the end of April.
