MOORHEAD (KFGO) – A man Fargo and Moorhead fire crews pulled from the Red River near the Main Avenue bridge Monday afternoon has died.
Fargo Police Lieutenant Matt Siders says the 39-year-old Fargo man was seen walking on the ice before witnesses watched the person fall into the river. The man, whose name is being withheld until family is notified, was recovered from the river shortly after 3:30 p.m. He was taken to a Fargo hospital in critical condition.

The Fargo Fire Department launched an inflatable Zodiac boat while searching for the man. The boat can move in the water and on top of the river ice. The call to Red River Regional Dispatch came in shortly after 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
