Derrick Lobbo (Cass County Jail)
HORACE, N.D. (KFGO) – A man accused in the shooting death of his girlfriend in Horace last fall has pleaded not guilty.
Derrick Lobbo, 21, waived his preliminary hearing on Thursday and entered not guilty pleas to charges of manslaughter, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and child neglect.
The shooting happened just before 8 a.m. on Nov. 5 at an apartment complex at 7994 Jacks Way in Horace.
Sakeena Khaadi, 23, died of a single gunshot wound. Investigators say the bullet struck her in the chest after going through her forearm.
After the shooting, Lobbo ran to the Sanford Horace Clinic asking for help. He was then seen yelling and running down the street back to the apartment complex where he was taken into custody.
Lobbo’s two-year-old child was in the apartment at the time of the shooting and has been staying with family.
Lobbo remains in the Cass County Jail.
