Moorhead bar owner to attend State of the Union address

WASHINGTON (KFGO) – Senator Amy Klobuchar says Sean Syverson, owner of Swing Barrel Brewing Co. in Moorhead, will be her special guest for the President’s State of the Union address Tuesday night.

Klobuchar, a Democrat, who’s running for governor, says small business owners in Minnesota like Syverson have been hit hard by the tariffs imposed by the Trump Administration. She says breweries have struggled with rising aluminum costs due to tariffs on Canadian imports, making canning and distribution more difficult.

Syverson and a friend opened Swing Barrel Brewing Co. in 2021.
