Jack Michaels
UNDATED (KFGO) – KFGO and KNFL Sports Director Jack Michaels has been elected to the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters (NDAPSSA) Hall of Fame.
Michaels, in his 34th year of broadcasting, began his career in Williston under the mentorship of hall of fame broadcaster Lee Halvorson.
Throughout his career, Michaels has been behind the play by play microphone for North Dakota State University athletics, University of North Dakota athletics, University of Mary, and a countless number of high school games and tournaments. He was the original voice of the Fargo Moorhead Redhawks Baseball team and continues in that role today.
Michaels’ 34 year career spans high school, college and professional sports broadcasting in football, baseball and basketball.
Past honors include multiple Eric Sevareid awards from the six state Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association and North Dakota and Minnesota Associated Press. He is also the host of the Jack Michaels Show on AM 740 the Fan in Fargo (107.3 FM).
Also inducted into the NDAPSSA for 2026 was long time Minot broadcaster Scott Kittell.
