OSAKIS, Minn. (KFGO) – A man from Osakis is in the Douglas County Jail after the sheriff’s office received a cyber tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The tip initiated an investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material.
Deputies obtained and executed a search warrant at a home in Osakis, where investigators located enough evidence to arrest 64-year-old Christopher Payne.
Payne is being held at the Douglas County Jail on probable cause for possession of child sexual abuse material. The case will be referred to the Douglas County Attorney’s Office for review of charges.
The sheriff’s office was assisted in this investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Douglas County SWAT Team, Osakis Police Department, and the Alexandria Police Department.
