MOORHEAD (KFGO/KVRR) — Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who is running for Minnesota governor, made a campaign stop in Moorhead where she checked in with businesses and advocated for spending locally.
The visit comes as Gov. Tim Walz announced his plans to allocate $10 million to businesses that have been affected by the recent ICE activity.
Businesses will be able to apply for loans ranging from $2,500 to $25,000 with evidence of how much revenue they have lost. Sen. Klobuchar believes the federal government should pay after what she calls an “ICE invasion”.
“It’s one thing to do legal immigration, and it’s one thing to go after violent offenders, which I fully support, but it’s another thing to do what they were doing – which was stopping legal citizens,” said Klobuchar.
Klobuchar encouraged people to shop locally and invest in the state, saying it is the best thing people can do right now.
