FARGO (KFGO KVRR) – A Cass County District Court judge has set bond at $5 million cash only for a Fargo man charged in the murder of his girlfriend. Judge Connie Cleveland set the bond amount at the request of an assistant Cass County State’s Attorney.
21-year-old Joshua Hite made his first court appearance in a video connection Friday morning from the Cass County jail. Hite was arrested outside of his south Fargo apartment Tuesday afternoon.
He’s charged with the murder of Isadora Wengel, 25, tampering with physical evidence, and giving false information to law enforcement.
Hite could face up to life in prison if convicted.
The charges say DNA found on a saw blade and other evidence indicates that Wengel’s body was dismembered. Investigators say they believe wengel’s remains may be in a black tote and that he possibly disposed of the tote in Otter Tail County, Minnesota.
Wengel was reported missing on January 7.
